Greetings, Wilco Seniors!
June is full of opportunities to connect, reflect, and enjoy the moments that make life special. I recently learned that today, June 11, is National Making Life Beautiful Day.
The day was established in 2015 by Apriori Beauty, a company specializing in organic cosmetics. They created it to express gratitude for the people who make life more meaningful and to encourage others to do the same. I thought it was a fitting national day to share with you.
Here are a few simple ways to celebrate:
📞 Call or write to someone you haven’t contacted in a while
💛 Give a sincere compliment or express gratitude
🌿 Spend time in nature or enjoy a creative activity
🤝 Volunteer for a meaningful cause
Even a simple smile or kind word can make someone’s day brighter. What a beautiful way to celebrate.

This Week: Hutto Resource Center

There are neighbors in Hutto who are doing the quiet work most of us hope is there when life gets hard. Hutto Resource Center is one of those places, helping local families with food, basic needs, and support that can make a hard week feel a little less impossible.
One of its most meaningful efforts is Golden Connections, a program for Hutto neighbors 65 and older. Through food deliveries and weekly wellness checks, the center helps older residents stay connected, stocked, and seen. Sometimes that kind of support is as simple as groceries at the door. Sometimes it is the comfort of knowing someone will check in again next week.
That is the kind of care that keeps Hutto feeling connected. The city has grown a lot, but programs like this help hold onto the neighborly spirit people love.
If you know someone in Hutto who could use a little help, or if you have been looking for a place to give back, this is a good name to keep close.

This Week: Baked ’n Sconed, Hutto

143 Exchange Blvd., Hutto
If your idea of a good morning involves coffee, something warm from the bakery case, and a place that doesn’t rush you, Baked ’n Sconed is worth knowing about. It’s a local bakery and coffee shop that has been serving fresh pastries and lunch since 2012, and the whole place feels built for an easy stop.
The name gives away the main attraction, but there is more than one way to do it right here. They specialize in modern scones, serve coffee, and also offer lunch, which means you can make this a quick pastry run or a slower sit-down visit. I like a place that gives you permission to do either.
Got a favorite spot you think more people should know about?
Reply and tell us the name, your go-to order, and why you love it!

🎆 America250 bash lands this Sunday
Williamson County’s America250 celebration is this Sunday, June 14, at the Old Settlers Association in Round Rock. The free afternoon runs from 1 to 4 p.m. with food, music, games, entertainment, cupcakes, and ice cream, which sounds like a pretty easy patriotic Sunday plan.
🛣️ Cedar Park roads are getting resurfaced
If Lakeline Boulevard is part of your routine, give yourself a little extra time. Cedar Park says resurfacing work between Highland Drive and Cedar Hills Boulevard is underway and expected to continue through the end of July, with daily lane closures and reduced traffic in the area.

🏛️ Round Rock wants board volunteers
Round Rock is accepting applications for city board and commission appointments, a good fit for anyone who likes being useful and staying close to how the city works. If you have local experience, a steady calendar, and ideas for making Round Rock better, this is one of those quiet civic opportunities worth a look.
