This week at Wilco Seniors, we’re celebrating the beauty of connection. Where wisdom meets wonder, and stories get passed down in smiles, laughter, and even bunny ears! These grandmas carry a lifetime of love, resilience, and lessons… and these grandkids? They’re the joy, the energy, and the living legacy of it all.

The value: Moments like these remind us that community isn’t just something we build… it’s something we live too. When generations come together, we create a belonging, purpose, and memories that truly matter.

Great Grandma

Let this be your reminder to slow down, sit close, and soak it in. These are the moments that stay with us.

This Week: Georgetown Art Center

Tucked just off the Georgetown Square at 816 S. Austin Avenue, the Georgetown Art Center has been a quiet cornerstone of creative life in this community for years. It's the kind of place where you walk in to look at the current exhibit and end up staying an hour longer than you planned.

The gallery rotates exhibits from local and regional artists throughout the year, and admission is free during gallery hours, making it an easy and genuinely worthwhile stop before or after lunch on the Square. If you have driven past it a hundred times without going in, consider this your nudge.

The Art Center also offers art education classes for adults throughout the year, from drawing fundamentals to painting workshops. These classes are popular with Sun City residents and Georgetown retirees who want a creative outlet that comes with good conversation and a welcoming group of neighbors.

If you love supporting local artists and want a way to stay connected to Georgetown's arts community, this place is worth a visit, and worth telling a friend about.

This Week: Fogonero, Cedar Park

If you have never had Venezuelan food, Fogonero is the place to start, and Cedar Park is lucky to have it. Chef Saúl Agüero brings decades of experience reimagining classic Venezuelan recipes into a warm, vibrant "comfort food" menu that doesn't feel like anything else in the county.

The Pabellón Criollo is the dish to try first: tender shredded beef, white rice, black beans, and sweet fried plantains all on one plate, in a combination that feels like it has been perfected over generations. The empanadas are another standout, crispy and generously filled, gone faster than you'd expect. If you want something to start, the Ceviche is fresh and bright, made the traditional way with lime, rocoto pepper, choclo, and sweet potato.

The space is small and intimate, which means the service is personal and the energy is warm. Open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 9 PM, Fridays until 10 PM.

Got a favorite spot you think more people should know about? Reply and tell us the name, your go-to order, and why you love it.
