🏋️ Getting stronger at any age in Georgetown

Woman exercising with a dumbbell beside a trainer at Get Age Fit
3626 Williams Drive, Suite 200, Georgetown, TX 78628

Get Age Fit is a personal training studio in Georgetown helping adults in their 60s, 70s and beyond build strength, improve mobility and feel more confident staying active. Founder Theo Thurston created the studio with older adults in mind, offering workouts tailored to each person's abilities, fitness level and physical limitations.

You'll work alongside a trainer rather than figuring out gym equipment on your own. Sessions focus on building strength safely, with lighter weights, controlled movements and plenty of attention to proper form. Choose from private training sessions or a combination of personal training and weekly group classes.

Getting started is simple. An initial consultation includes a studio tour, a review of your health history and a conversation about your goals. Want to bring your spouse or a friend? You can train together while still following your own personalized plans.

The studio offers a free consultation and trial session. Call 512-591-7923 to learn more about scheduling and pricing. They also allow unused training sessions to roll over into the following month, a nice perk if you're traveling or have a busy schedule!

🍗 Crispy chicken worth checking out in Liberty Hill

Milan’s Kitchen official lunch poster showing its red food truck with yellow stripes in Liberty Hill
112 Co Rd 214, Liberty Hill, TX 78642

Craving a good chicken sandwich? Milan’s Kitchen is a locally owned food truck in Liberty Hill serving up fresh, never-frozen chicken that's marinated overnight, hand-breaded and cooked to order. Their sandwiches come on toasted brioche buns, with options for both crispy chicken lovers and those who prefer grilled.

The classic Milan’s Chicken Sandwich keeps things simple, while the Hot Chicken Sandwich brings the spice. There’s also a Deluxe Sandwich, a jalapeño grilled option and Texas Heat chicken tenders for anyone wanting something a little different.

You can round out your meal with seasoned fries or go all in with their loaded chicken fries. Online ordering, pickup and delivery are also available, making it an easy option when you're craving a good chicken sandwich without the hassle of cooking.

🚗 rideGTX changes remain proposals

Georgetown is considering changes to rideGTX, including raising the first rider payment from $4 to $5, limiting subsidized service to 6 a.m.–midnight, and capping wheelchair-accessible rides at 25 trips per month. These are proposals, not changes already in effect.

A contract amendment, legal and purchasing review, and council approval are still required. If you use the program for errands or appointments, check the city’s current service terms before booking.

🏡 New senior living community planned for Leander's Northline

Hayden Grove Northline is a planned 234-unit senior living community at 461 John Webster Street in Leander’s Northline district. Verdot Capital’s plans include independent living, assisted living and memory care, giving older residents and families three types of housing and care to watch as the project develops.

Texas Construction Media reported September 21 that construction is scheduled for November 2026 through November 2028. Those are planned construction dates, not an opening announcement; the community is not open, and the schedule may change.
