🎲 A full calendar and a familiar place to land

Some places make it easier to turn an ordinary weekday into something social. The Allen R. Baca Center in downtown Round Rock gives adults 50 and up a regular place to exercise, learn something, play a game, or simply spend time around other people.
The calendar has a little of everything, including chair yoga, bridge, mahjong, writing and garden clubs, music groups, dances, movie days, fitness classes, and trips around Central Texas. The building also has a weight room, billiards room, dance room, meeting spaces, and a patio.
Annual membership starts at $30, or $60 with weight-room access. Walk-in options are also available, which makes it easy to try the center before committing to a full membership.
If you have been looking for one new reason to get out each week, the Baca Center gives you plenty to choose from.

🍽️ An elevated night out in Georgetown

606 South Church Street, Georgetown, TX
The Golden Rule sits just south of the Georgetown Square, close enough to make it part of a downtown evening but removed from the busiest stretch. The dining room has a moody, speakeasy-inspired feel that works well for a date night, celebration or dinner when you want something a little different without going overly formal.
The menu includes less-common picks like fried quail, escargot and lamb stew, along with desserts such as Meyer lemon tart, spiced apple crumble and chocolate malt cake. Whiskey gets plenty of attention at the bar, alongside a full selection of cocktails and wine.

🌿 Walk 20 Miles by November
Williamson County’s River Ranch County Park is inviting residents to walk, run or hike 20 miles by November 30. Complete the challenge at your own pace, track your mileage with a fitness app and submit your results when finished. The first 100 people to complete all 20 miles will receive a commemorative medal, and all finishers will be recognized on the county website.
For summer outings, plan for cooler morning hours, bring plenty of water and take breaks as needed.
📚 Get Library Books Delivered
Round Rock Public Library delivers books, DVDs, hotspots, laptops and other materials to eligible residents who cannot visit the library without assistance. People affected by illness, disability, recovery from an injury or surgery, conditions related to aging or limited transportation may qualify, either temporarily or long term.

The service is available only to residents within Round Rock city limits, including those living in private homes, retirement communities, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing homes. Call or text 512-962-4988 to ask about enrollment.
🍽️ More Help for Meals and Home Repairs
Round Rock’s newly approved community-development plan includes $20,000 for Meals on Wheels, $417,109 for the city’s home-repair program and $60,000 for food-pantry and housing assistance through the Round Rock Area Serving Center. The funding will support qualifying low-income residents beginning with the new program year on Oct. 1.
