Happy Thursday WilCo Seniors!

Announcing Wilco Seniors Dinner Club

A new way to eat, meet, and connect — one table at a time. You know that feeling when dinner turns into great conversation, and suddenly you’ve made a few new friends?

That’s exactly the vibe behind the Wilco Seniors Dinner Club, a new experience designed to bring seniors in Georgetown together over great local food and meaningful conversation.

Here’s how it works: you take a quick quiz, get matched with five other local seniors who share similar interests, and show up for a relaxed night out filled with conversation, laughs, and maybe even a few new favorite restaurants and friends. We handle the planning. You just bring yourself.

Our first dinner kicks off soon, and trust us, you will want a seat at this table. This isn’t networking. It’s not small talk or name tags. It’s six people around a table sharing stories, swapping restaurant recommendations, and enjoying the kind of evening that reminds you how special community really is.

It’s about connection, laughter, and great meal shared together. After dinner, those who’d like to keep the conversation going will have the option to gather for coffee or dessert, because good connections deserve a little extra time together.

Whether you’re new to the area, looking to meet new friends, or simply enjoy discovering local restaurants, Wilco Seniors Dinner Club is your invitation to a warm, welcoming night out.

We’re starting in Georgetown with plans to expand to other communities across Williamson County as our table continues to grow.

Thank you to our sponsors who help keep this newsletter free for the WilCo community. 🙏

We haven't gotten to feature a real reader yet (we're working on it!), but we want to tell you about an organization full of people doing something worth knowing about.

Faith in Action Georgetown is a nonprofit run almost entirely by volunteers who help seniors in our community stay independent. Their biggest need? Drivers. Volunteers use their own vehicles to give seniors free rides to doctor appointments, the grocery store, even the hair salon. You pick your own schedule, your own area, and you decide when and how often you drive.

They also run a Buddy Program where you call or visit a senior once or twice a week just to chat and check in. It's simple and it matters more than you'd think.

If you've been looking for a way to give back that's flexible and genuinely makes someone's day better, this is it.

Want to be our next spotlight?

We're looking for WilCo neighbors to feature in this section. Maybe you volunteer somewhere. Maybe you just picked up a new hobby. Maybe you've been here 30 years and have great stories. Reply to this email and tell us about yourself or someone you know. Attach a photo if you've got one.

We are building a list of the best local spots based on your recommendations.

Reader Pick: Dos Salsas, Georgetown

Several readers named this their top choice for Tex-Mex on the Square. The patio is a perfect spot for lunch during a warm spring day. Try visiting after shopping at Market Days this Saturday.

Check them out here.

Have a favorite local restaurant? Reply and tell us the name, what you usually order, and why you love it.

Handcrafts Unlimited on the Georgetown Square

Not enough people know about this place. Handcrafts Unlimited is an all-volunteer, nonprofit retail store right on the Square that sells handcrafted items made by local artists who are 50 and older. Quilts, knitted pieces, woodwork, ceramics, jewelry, cards, and gifts. They're also hosting the 2026 Georgetown Quilt Show coming up. If you're crafty and want to get involved, they're always looking for new artisans and volunteers.

Georgetown Senior Adult Adventure Program

Did you know the Georgetown Recreation Center runs a Senior Adult Adventure Program? Canoeing, archery, geocaching, skeet shooting, fly fishing, and more. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous than your usual routine, check it out. Contact the Georgetown Recreation Center for the current schedule.

New Indoor Pickleball in Cedar Park

Apex Pickleball opened in February with 16 indoor championship courts, a pro shop, and a full restaurant called PickleDilly's. 49,000 square feet, drawing players from across WilCo. They offer memberships, guest passes, and are planning tournaments including the Lone Star Open in April.

You can be a part of the next issue by replying to this email to:

  1. Submit a birthday for yourself or a friend.

  2. Nominate a neighbor for our weekly spotlight feature.

  3. Share your favorite restaurant and your go-to order.

Just hit reply to join the conversation.

That's your week, WilCo. It's a good one. Get out there and enjoy it.

See you next Thursday. 👋
