🔨 Helping WilCo neighbors stay safely at home

A loose railing, failing air conditioner, damaged roof, or inaccessible doorway can turn an otherwise comfortable home into a daily worry. Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County helps eligible local homeowners make critical repairs so they can live more safely and remain in the homes they know.

Its Home Repair Program can assist with accessibility improvements, weatherization, painting, carpentry, roofs, windows, doors, and repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems. The program is designed for qualifying Williamson County homeowners with limited incomes and confirmed repair needs.

That work matters especially for older neighbors who may be living on a fixed income. A well-placed handrail, safer entrance, working air conditioner, or repaired roof can make the difference between struggling at home and staying there comfortably.

Habitat also welcomes volunteers throughout the year. Opportunities include home repairs, construction, the Georgetown ReStore, events, office support, and homeowner services. It is a practical way to use your time and experience while helping another WilCo neighbor.

🍝 A family-owned Italian table in Leander

1913 S. Highway 183, Suite 301A, Leander, TX

Bella Sera of Leander is a neighborhood favorite with plenty to keep everyone at the table happy. The family-owned restaurant serves both northern and southern Italian dishes, with veal, seafood, baked pasta and house specialties filling out the menu.

The pasta sampler brings lasagna, cannelloni and manicotti together on one plate. The tortellini alla panna pairs cheese-filled pasta with a creamy pink sauce, while the shrimp scampi comes over linguine with white wine and lemon.

Save room for tiramisu, cannoli or a glass of limoncello to finish the meal.

🚰 Local Water Systems Get a Refresh

Cedar Park, Round Rock, Leander and Liberty Hill are completing routine water-system maintenance through September 3. You may notice a temporary chlorine smell or taste, but the water remains safe for everyday use.

🕟 County Counter Closes Earlier

The Williamson County District Clerk’s Office now closes to the public at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Customers already being helped at that time will receive service, but no new walk-ins will be accepted. Emergency filings will continue as usual.
